Dr. Paul Héroux is a scientist with experience in physics (BSc, MSc and PhD), engineering (15 years), and the health sciences (30 years). He started his research career at Institut de Recherche d’Hydro-Québec in Varennes, Québec, an internationally reputed electrotechnical laboratory. After rounding out his formation with courses in Biology and Medicine, he became interested in public health, and was appointed Associate Professor at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, where he is the current Occupational Health program Director, and also Medical Scientist in the Department of Surgery of the McGill University Health Center.

Theodora Scarato directs Environment Health Trust (EHT) programs and coordinates scientific programs in the US and internationally with EHTs Senior Science Advisors. Scarato is lead policy analyst and researcher for the EHT database on international actions – the most comprehensive collection of information on policy actions on cell phones and wireless. She previously worked with EHT as Director of Educational Resources and Public Affairs, developing educational resources for communities and governments. She has co-founded several organizations both locally and nationally that address environmental health and safety concerns. As a practicing clinical psychotherapist, her two decades of work with children and adolescents includes directing an intensive special education therapy program in Montgomery County Schools and working as a psychotherapist at an ADHD clinic. Her research interests include not only the effects from radiation exposures but also the social emotional effects of technology overuse.

Camilla Macpherson is one of the founders of Bermuda Advocates for Safe Technology, a community advocate group, founded in 2018, consisting of teachers, health care professionals, business professionals and environmentalists whose mission is to educate our community and policy makers on the dangers of exposure to unsafe levels of radiation from technology and to work together to create a healthier community.

Dr. David Balcombe Wingate OBE, is a well known ornithologist, naturalist and conservationist. Born October 11, 1935 in Bermuda, he studied Zoology at Cornell University and went on to become the Conservation Officer for the Bermuda Government Parks Department from 1966 to his retirement in 2000. He was credited with rediscovering the Black-capped Petrel in Haiti in 1963.He is best known locally for the work he has done on Nonsuch Island, a limited access wildlife sanctuary in Bermuda. The restoration of the once barren island into a ‘Living Museum of pre-colonial Bermuda’ is Dr. Wingate’s lifetime work, and part of his effort to bring back from near extinction Bermuda’s national bird, the Cahow. Dr. Wingate appeared in “Rare Bird’, a documentary by Lucinda Spurling about the rediscovery of the cahow. He was a founding member of the Bermuda Audubon Society and the Bermuda National Trust. He also served on the board of the Bermuda Biological Station for Research, and as a research associate of the Bermuda Zoological Society.

Dr David “Living Roots” Chapman is an author, explorer, science educator and natural living expert. Dr Chapman holds a Bachelors of Science in Marine and Environmental Science from Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia, a Masters of Science in Environmental Diagnosis and Management from Royal Holloway University of London and a PhD in renewable energy and sustainable development also from Royal Holloway University of London. Born and raised in Bermuda, exploring and learning about the natural world around him has always been at the core of his life’s passion and purpose. Dr Chapman has conducted research in the field of coral reef ecology, land contamination, air quality, waste to energy pyrolysis and the role that renewable energy can play towards sustainable development for Small Island States. David has made it his life’s mission to both encourage and facilitate exploration and education of the natural world that surrounds us in order to promote environmental appreciation and foster environmental literacy. In this quest, David has travelled around the world to locations that hold ecological, cultural or historical significance in a bid to further his own appreciation and understanding of our unique planet. He has also written several books including a children’s environmental book series that is focused on educating young people about Bermuda’s unique mid-Atlantic island habitats.

Dr. Ayesha Peets Talbot completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. In her final year of medical school she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society (election to Alpha Omega Alpha is an honor signifying a lasting commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, and service). Dr. Peets Talbot completed her post-graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University in a Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program. She is boarded in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has continued to further her medical education by starting a Fellowship in Bariatric Medicine and became board certified in Obesity Medicine. She is passionate about helping people to achieve and maintain their optimal health, from baby to adulthood. She believes that a healthcare approach that recognizes that healthy living is a balance between wellness of the mind, body and spirit is the key. She is currently continuing her education in Functional Medicine Practices.

It also makes a call for policy makers and industry to explore the achievable safer solutions that will allow us to retain all the benefits of our technology, but safely. Frank joins hundreds of scientists, experts and medical professionals from around the world in appealing to world health organizations, policy makers and governments calling for more studies and safer technological products, practices and policy at all levels. Frank is the co- founder of Canadians For Safe Technology (C4ST) and currently serves on the business advisory group of the Environmental Health Trust (EHT.)

Eugene Dean is a life-long community activist who has applied his trouble-shooting skills in computer science to the physical infrastructure of social enterprise. Starting in the fields of sports, information technology and wholistic health before expanding to embrace audio visual, event management, sustainable living and alternative energy, Eugene uses the creative license of the multimedia / entertainment industry to literally connect “public interest” with the “public square”. As the founder of the Emperial Group, Eugene created an umbrella concept of service and collective effort based on “meeting the needs of the people”. He undertook the management of Spanish Town Entertainment, over a decade ago, to ensure that the community has access to affordable entertainment infrastructure for live events. Prior to that he created Bermuda’s first football academy and developed Startime, a multimedia company through which he produced an number of live webcasts, video productions, theatre productions and the Moonlight Movie Series. This wholesome family event, based on the theme “Unity in the Community”, proved that simple concepts can bring people together from all walks of life. Throughout this process of trouble-shooting, Eugene has evolved as a trusted, reliable and accessible presence in the often uncertain arena of event promotion. He brings this same

skill set to the emerging requirements of the non-profit arena as the longest serving member of Greenrock and current Chairman of the Executive Board.
